Sustainability report 2026
Annual ESG snapshot for Corp-Merch.IT Italy operations — emissions, materials, supplier audits and 2027 targets.
Headline numbers
In 2026 the Italy operation handled 412,000 units across 1,180 B2B orders with an on-time-in-full rate of 96.4%. Scope 1+2 emissions were measured at 38 tCO2e (location-based), down 12% year-on-year, driven by partner renewable-energy contracts. Scope 3 freight emissions intra-EU were 184 tCO2e, offset 100% through verified Gold Standard projects. Recycled-content share across the catalogue reached 41% by weight.
Materials, packaging and end-of-life
Textile products are 62% organic cotton or rPET on a volume basis; the remainder is conventional cotton, blends and a small residual of polyester. Hard goods (bottles, notebooks, tech) are 38% recycled-content. All bulk packaging is single-material cardboard, FSC-certified, with paper void-fill replacing plastic on 100% of shipments. Take-back of unused stock and overruns is available — see the circular economy page.
Supplier audits and certifications
Across our Italy partner pool, 100% of tier-1 suppliers have signed the supplier code; 78% hold an independent social-audit certificate (Sedex SMETA 4-pillar, BSCI or equivalent). 24 announced audits and 3 unannounced ones were conducted in 2026; remediation plans were closed within 90 days on average. Our group certifications relevant to Italy include ISO 14001 (environment) at the printing partner level and ISO 27001 (information security) at the platform level.
FAQ
Is the report externally audited?
The financial section is reviewed by an external bookkeeper. Sustainability metrics are verified by an independent consultancy and we plan limited assurance to ISAE 3000 from 2027.
Why don't you publish Scope 3 cat. 1?
Purchased-goods Scope 3 is hardest to calculate accurately. We publish a partial figure based on supplier-specific EPDs for 60% of spend and plan full coverage by 2028.
What is the 2027 target?
Cut Scope 1+2 by another 20%, raise recycled-content share to 50%, and reach 90% Sedex coverage on tier-1 suppliers.
How does Italy compare to other markets?
Italy freight emissions per unit are below group average because of dense intra-EU shipping. Energy mix at the local print partner is similarly cleaner than the group baseline.
