Sublimation vs DTF
Sublimation for all-over print on light polyester (sportswear, mugs). DTF for any colour fabric (cotton, blends, dark) with photographic detail and small runs.
When to choose sublimation
Sublimation dyes polyester fibres permanently — the print becomes part of the fabric, with zero hand-feel and unlimited wash cycles. Best for sportswear, jerseys, light polyester T-shirts and mugs. Works only on white/light polyester (≥65%) or polymer-coated substrates.
When to choose DTF
DTF prints on any fabric — cotton, poly, blends, dark and light. Photorealistic colour, no MOQ. Slight hand-feel from transfer film. Best for cotton T-shirts, dark hoodies, totes and small runs. Cannot do all-over print like sublimation.

FAQ
Can sublimation print on cotton?
No — only polyester (≥65%) or polymer-coated. Cotton won't bind the dye.
Can DTF print all-over?
No — DTF is limited to chest, back and sleeve panels.
Wash durability?
Sublimation: lifetime of fabric. DTF: 40-50+ washes.
Hand-feel?
Sublimation: zero, dye becomes the fabric. DTF: slight film overlay.
Photographic detail?
Both excellent. Sublimation has slight advantage on smooth poly.
