CE marking — EU product conformity — Italy
CE marking on regulated promotional products — DoC, technical file and Notified Body coverage for Italy.
Architecture — What we cover for Italy
Regulated promotional products sold into Italy carry CE marking where required: electronics (RED 2014/53/EU, EMC 2014/30/EU, LVD 2014/35/EU), PPE (Regulation 2016/425), toys (Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC). For each SKU we maintain a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) referencing the relevant harmonised standards and, where applicable, a Notified Body number. Files retained 10 years after last placing on the market.
How to wire it up — Technical file and responsibility
The technical file includes design drawings, BOM, risk assessment, test reports (typically EN 62368-1 for IT/AV, EN 71-1/2/3 for toys), instructions and packaging artwork. We act as importer or authorised representative within the EU; the Milano address appears on the product or packaging as required. IVA 22% invoicing via SdI runs independently — but on regulated SKUs the DoC reference is recorded on the invoice line for traceability.
Operations and edge cases — Customer obligations
When you brand a regulated product (for example a power bank) we typically remain the responsible economic operator; you keep the rights to your artwork. If you modify the product (firmware change, additional plug) you may become a manufacturer and inherit obligations — we will flag this at quoting and either guide you through the conformity process or decline the project. Market-surveillance authority for Italy cooperates with us via the ICSMS network. Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) invoice events surface the DoC reference for AP reconciliation.
FAQ
Who is the responsible economic operator?
Typically Corp-Merch's EU entity. We can be manufacturer (where we design), importer (where we source from outside EU), or authorised representative for non-EU brand owners.
Where is the DoC stored?
Centrally in our compliance dossier; customers can request a copy for any regulated SKU they purchase.
What about UKCA?
For UK shipments we additionally apply UKCA where required. Northern Ireland: CE+UKNI per the Windsor Framework.
What if I customise the product?
Brand printing alone keeps you as user. Functional changes (firmware, plug) may make you a manufacturer — we'll flag before quoting.
Connection to invoicing?
IVA 22% invoicing via SdI works independently. On regulated SKUs the DoC reference is recorded on the invoice line.
