How we design, price, source, check and measure

The five processes behind every quote, written down so a buyer can check them against what they receive.

Five processes sit behind every programme, and each is described in full here. The design process covers the brief, the artwork preparation, the sample and the approval. The procurement framework covers finding and qualifying a producer and what that qualification actually checks.

The pricing philosophy explains why the same item costs different amounts at different quantities, and what we do and do not include in a unit price. The quality process covers the AQL 2.5 standard applied to pre-series production, the inspection stages and what a claim has to prove before it is accepted.

The sustainability method covers how a claim is substantiated: the certificate, the chain of custody, the scope of the producer certification and the data collected per purchase order under the GHG Protocol for CSRD reporting. The method is deliberately conservative, because an unsupported claim is a liability for the buyer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is AQL 2.5?

An acceptable quality limit that allows a small number of minor defects in a batch. We apply it to pre-series production so problems are found before the main run.

How do you substantiate an environmental claim?

With the producer certificate, the chain of custody and, where asked, the scope of the certification itself.

Do you test before the production run?

Yes. Pre-series production is approved before the main run starts, and the approval is recorded.

Ask about the method behind a quote

Send the stage of the programme you are asking about and the question. We answer with the method as it is written, not as it is summarised.
