What 2,400 corporate events across Italy in 2025-2026 taught us about which swag actually moves the needle.

We pulled attendance data, post-event NPS and merch redemption rates from 2,400 events run by mid-market and enterprise clients across Italy — from Milano conferences to regional roadshows. The headline finding: events that ship a curated kit before attendees arrive score 23 points higher in NPS than those that hand out swag at the door, and attendees self-report twice the brand recall at 30 days.

Spend per attendee correlates weakly with NPS — generous budgets on dull items don't help. What matters is item-task fit. At workshops, a quality notebook is worn out by the end of day one; at networking dinners, a small leather-look passport sleeve or a refillable water bottle gets remembered. The worst-performing item across our data set: the branded plastic pen, by a wide margin.

Pre-event shipment also reduces day-of stress and freight surprises. Plan kits to arrive five business days ahead, with a QR-coded agenda card on top so attendees know what to bring. What about hybrid events?

Ship remote attendees the same kit so they don't feel second-class. Add a coffee sachet or sweet treat for synchronous moments.

Should we co-brand with sponsors?

Yes if the sponsor adds perceived value. Avoid cluttered co-branding — one host logo + one sponsor logo per item, max.
