ExpoDental — Italy’s leading trade fair for the dental and dental-technician sector — runs every spring at RiminiFiera and attracts thousands of professionals: dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, multi-practice managers, university clinics, medical-device distributors and dental-clinic-chain buyers. The event is the meeting point for Italian and European producers of dental medical devices, dental-practice equipment, oral-hygiene products, management software and continuing-education services. For participating producers and distributors the preparation calendar is dense, print runs are highly variable and recipients are varied — Italian and foreign dentists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, distributors, university clinics, chain buyers — so every kit must be split clearly between stand materials, dentist welcome kits, professional visitor giveaways and CME conference materials.
For a merchandising programme around ExpoDental Rimini, Corp-Merch.IT runs the full chain from its operational hub: receiving the producer or distributor master graphic files (AI, EPS, PDF/X-4 with CMYK images at 300 dpi, FOGRA39 colour profile for print, RAL for plastic materials), adapting them to the personalisation techniques (water-based screen printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton for the welcome-kit textiles, hot-foil stamping on FSC-certified paper for the technical catalogues and medical-device brochures, laser engraving on Maniago stainless steel for the demonstration instruments and small accessories, direct UV printing on Faenza and Caltagirone ceramics for the personalised demonstration models, acid etching on Colle Val d’Elsa glass for the welcome-kit glasses, 3D printing in certified medical-grade plaster for the anatomical demonstration models), physical pre-production sample with Pantone colour map and technical sheet, production on the Italian supply chains (Faenza ceramics, Caltagirone ceramics, Maniago steel, Colle Val d’Elsa glass, Fabriano paper for the catalogues, Milan editorial printing, certified medical plastic in Bologna), and delivery to a central Rimini hotel, the RiminiFiera stand or the producer office in the agreed time slot. For programmes covering several producers or dental practices we split into recipient-labelled lots, with distinct delivery addresses if a producer headquartered in Bologna or Padua wants to collect its share from its own warehouse.
The ExpoDental audience is varied and kits must be tailored to the recipient. The Italian dentist visiting the fair with their practice to upgrade looks for a coordinated memento of the producer (GOTS-certified organic cotton branded textile, bilingual technical catalogue, brochure with the medical-device technical sheet, professional studio gadget like a pen holder or an insulated mug) they can take back to the practice and use. The dental hygienist following the fair to update their oral-hygiene techniques needs bilingual technical catalogues, detailed technical sheets and professional gadgets (travel toothbrush, coordinated dental floss, product samples). The dental technician visiting the fair to upgrade their laboratory equipment looks for detailed technical sheets, demonstration models, material samples and professional laboratory gadgets (apron, protective glasses, small coordinated accessories). The medical-device distributor updating their catalogue for the season needs technical catalogues, updated price lists, bilingual sales sheets (Italian and English at minimum) and coordinated shoppers. The university-clinic manager visiting the fair for their teaching and research expects a coordinated, refined item suited to a representative meeting: Scandicci leather folder, bilingual technical catalogue, small demonstration model. A merchandising programme that respects these five audiences converts much better than a single kit trying to cover them all.
A recurring case is the merch coordinated with the launch of a new medical device the producer presents at ExpoDental itself: the producer’s marketing team prepares a neutral graphic base aligned with the producer identity (branded textile, bilingual technical brochure, demonstration model) and adds the launch details (device name, CE certification, Ministry of Health registration code, clinical claim) in a dedicated limited print run, so each visitor finds a specific memento of the device they saw at the stand. Printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton, Faenza and Caltagirone ceramics, Colle Val d’Elsa glass, Maniago steel and FSC-certified paper is a frequent request from producers most careful with the environmental claim and the print quality, and we handle it with FSC and GOTS certified screen-printers, ceramicists and printing partners.
Why the Rimini hub matters for ExpoDental
Most medical-device producers, distributors and dental-practice managers running a merch programme for ExpoDental coordinate their Italian operations from Bologna, Padua, Milan or Rome. The Rimini hub — where Corp-Merch.IT works through consolidation warehouses in the Fiera and San Giuliano districts — lets us receive graphic files and Pantone references from the producer team, run the pre-production sample across the Italian supply chains (Faenza ceramics, Caltagirone ceramics, Maniago steel, Colle Val d’Elsa glass, Fabriano paper for the catalogues, Milan editorial printing, certified medical plastic in Bologna) and ship the lot to the RiminiFiera stand or the delegation hotel within a very short courier window, twenty-four hours from the Romagna capital. For programmes combining an Italian producer and a European distribution partner we run bilingual materials (Italian and English at minimum) and, on request, full multilingual production with translations aligned to ISO 17100. For programmes pairing ExpoDental with SIDO (Italian Society of Orthodontics) or the AIO congress we mirror the logistics on both dates with a single operational contact and a dedicated MOQ price list for the annual volume.
Merch calendar for the ExpoDental days
The ExpoDental window is concentrated but the merch programme must be planned against a calendar that includes the two set-up days opening the preceding Wednesday, the four professional-public opening days from Thursday to Sunday, the morning CME conference schedule, the afternoon hands-on demonstration sessions, the new-device presentations and the industry evening dinners. For producers and distributors the gap between confirming the launch calendar and the RiminiFiera opening is normally under ten weeks, and any item that must be at the stand, the conference room or the demonstration room for day one must be closed and shipped at least one week before the debut. We work backwards from that moment: production must close two–three weeks before the debut; the courier slot must be booked for the Tuesday or Wednesday of the ExpoDental week; the addressee list must be finalised at the same time as the CME conference calendar is confirmed; the launch details (device name, CE certification, clinical claim) only add a small print run to an already-produced neutral graphic base.
For teams following ExpoDental from Rimini, Bologna, Milan or abroad we also run a two-wave kit: a pre-ExpoDental wave on the Tuesday or Wednesday of the event week to the delegation hotel or to the producer warehouse in the Fiera district, and a post-ExpoDental wave that returns any unused material to the producer warehouse for storage until the next edition (annual). This split is a frequent request because the visitor and accredited audience that actually takes home a coordinated ExpoDental memento is much smaller than the stand and conference-room audience, and most producers do not want surplus material left in Rimini after the last day.
