Festival dei Popoli — a showcase dedicated to world cultures, to the communities present on Italian soil and to international cooperation, held every year in Genoa in the historic-port circuit — brings to the city diplomatic delegations, NGOs, international-cooperation institutes, embassies and consulates, foreign-community associations, intercultural centres, universities and departments of anthropological studies, small independent publishers of migration literature, indigenous peoples’ organisations and solidarity movements, alongside an audience of enthusiasts, students, researchers, institutional representatives and neighbourhood residents. The event combines screenings, exhibitions, round tables, performances, educational workshops, welcome ceremonies and cultural-exchange programmes among the communities.
For the international delegations invited to the communities’ calendar, NGOs and international-cooperation institutes bringing their cultural campaigns to Genoa, embassies and consulates accompanying diplomatic delegations, foreign-community associations present on the Ligurian and Italian territory, intercultural centres and schools joining the educational programmes, universities and departments of anthropological and cooperation studies, small independent publishers of migration literature and community poetry, indigenous peoples’ organisations and solidarity movements, corporate and institutional sponsors of the festival, cultural foundations and the calendar’s institutional partners working at Genoa Festival dei Popoli, Corp-Merch.IT coordinates from its Milan operational hub a tailored programme that opens with intake of master artwork from the international delegation, NGO, cooperation institute, embassy, community association, school, university, small independent publisher or sponsor, proceeds through adaptation to each decoration method (water-based screen printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton for audience shoppers, hot-foil stamping on FSC-certified paper for catalogue booklets and press kits, computerised embroidery for premium tote bags, laser engraving on walnut wood or plywood for limited editions, art serigraphy on watercolour paper for signed limited-edition prints, UV printing on recycled PVC for badges of accredited delegates and participating schools) and closes with the physical pre-production sample, AQL 2.5 quality control and delivery to the delegation’s pavilion, the NGO stand, the cultural-circuit venue, the exhibition foyer or the festival’s consolidation warehouse. For limited-edition signed prints and art materials produced by indigenous peoples we work with Italian art-print workshops specialised in limited editions on watercolour paper, so the print runs arrive in pristine condition.
For clients with Italian VAT (Partita IVA), the invoice is issued through the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) with 22% IVA applied in EUR; reduced rates of 10% for catalogues and 5% for books and art publications apply to editorial categories under current Italian law. For signed-print limited editions and art editions the VAT regime consistent with the product’s nature (art editions, catalogues, prints) is applied. Reverse charge applies for intra-EU buyers registered in VIES, split payment applies for public-sector stands and Codice Destinatario / PEC handle electronic delivery. For non-EU clients we can issue an invoice in EUR without Italian IVA under the relevant territorial rules, or a self-billed summary on request. For programmes that fall under CSRD reporting (Italian D.Lgs. 125/2024, transposing Directive (EU) 2022/2464), we provide a per-order sustainability sheet with Scope 3 CO₂e estimates aligned with the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain standard and ESRS E1, E5 and S2 disclosure requirements.
Festival calendar and Genoa historic-port logistics
The festival falls between October and November and its position in the historic port of Genoa shapes the last-mile logistics: direct deliveries to the historic-port and cultural-circuit pavilions must be coordinated with the loading windows published by the festival’s production; a buffer at a nearby warehouse in the urban circuit or at our Milan hub cuts the risk of a delivery outside the window. October-November traffic on the A7, A10 and A26 motorways and on the Genoa road network affects deliveries and the high autumn season (October-November) can be congested; we often combine venue delivery with a buffer at a nearby depot in the historic-port area, a warehouse affiliated with the festival in central Genoa and a second delivery to the delegation’s pavilion inside the official build-up window, once the festival has confirmed the recipient, gate and pass. For programmes spanning multiple operating venues (historic-port spaces, cultural-circuit venues, foreign-community pavilions, embassy and consulate spaces, intercultural-centre seats, partner universities) we prepare separate packing lists per destination with on-site recipient labels and a per-day festival schedule.
