The Festival dell’Economia is the Italian showcase of reference on the topics of economy, finance, economic policy, sustainable development and the digital and environmental transitions, born in the early 2000s and grown around the cities of Trento and Rovereto. The event is held every year in May or June, structured across four days packed with lectures, round tables, dialogues, editorial presentations, seminars, exhibitions, workshops and walks across the rooms of the institutions of the circuit, the MART spaces and the academic venues. The event engages non-fiction publishers of economics and current affairs, academic and research institutions, universities and business schools, corporate sponsors, Italian and international speakers and moderators, economic and financial press desks, specialised outlets, polling institutes and a wide audience of industry guests, students, academics and citizens interested in the public-debate topics.
For corporate sponsors, non-fiction publishers, academic institutions, speakers and economic press desks working at the Festival dell’Economia, Corp-Merch.IT coordinates a tailored programme from its Milan operational hub, starting from the receipt of the graphics files of the sponsor, publisher or institution, going through the adaptation for the different customisation techniques (silk-screen printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton for the shoppers, hot foil stamping on FSC-certified paper for the programme booklets and the press folders, computerised embroidery for the premium tote bags, laser engraving on anodised aluminium or on walnut wood for the top-tier speaker kits) and arriving at the physical pre-production sample, the AQL 2.5 quality check and the delivery to the institutional venue, the publisher stand, the MART entrance or the Fondazione consolidation warehouse. Non-fiction catalogues and representative material are printed on FSC-certified paper with low-impact methods, and on request we add stitched binding, signature, ISBN coding and EAN barcode for bookshop distribution. For numbered editions of research publications (working papers, policy reports) we propose letterpress printing on felt paper and packaging in a technical-board slipcase, with a numbered certificate of authenticity attached.
Invoicing for Italian VAT-registered buyers goes through the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) of the Italian Revenue Agency in EUR with 22% VAT, delivered to the Codice Destinatario or to the PEC communicated by the buyer. For editorial catalogues and representative material the reduced 10% VAT applies, for books and policy guides 5%, in line with current Italian VAT rules. Reverse charge for intra-EU buyers registered with VIES, split payment for public bodies, Codice Destinatario or PEC for electronic invoice delivery. For clients in scope of CSRD reporting (D.Lgs. 125/2024, transposing Directive (EU) 2022/2464) we provide a sustainability sheet per order with Scope 3 CO₂e estimates under the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain on the domestic legs and on the provenances from the named districts, aligned with ESRS E1, E5 and S2.
Cultural-economic calendar and circuit logistics
The Festival dell’Economia calendar sits between the Salone del Risparmio in Milan and the Festival delle Economie in Bergamo on the cultural-economic calendar and overlaps with the Salone del Libro di Torino on the editorial side; the Trento and Rovereto festival is attended by publishers, authors, academics and industry guests who move around the spring cultural calendar. Direct deliveries to the venues of the circuit must be aligned with the loading windows published by Fondazione Festival dell’Economia and with the logistics plan of the Trento historic centre and the Rovereto circuit (ZTL, gates of the institutional palaces, Soprintendenza constraints on the historic palaces); a buffer at a hotel in Trento or at our Milan hub lowers the risk of an off-window delivery. For programmes that span several operating sites (Palazzo della Provincia, Teatro Sociale, MART, Faculty of Economics, Palazzo Caritro) we prepare separate packing lists per destination with dedicated on-site contact labelling, and a delivery plan across two-to-three days to cover the whole Trento – Rovereto circuit.
Recommended product mix for the Festival dell’Economia 2026
Shoppers and bookmarks for the festival audience
FSC-certified paper shoppers or GOTS-certified organic cotton shoppers, bookmarks coordinated with the festival, corporate sponsor or non-fiction publisher graphics, coordinated labels for non-fiction volumes and academic working papers. The paper shoppers are printed with low-impact water-based inks and can be personalised with the logo of the sponsor, the publishing house or the academic institution on one or both sides.
Speaker welcome bags for the bill
Tote bags in canvas, recycled cotton or leather, travel goods, editorial kits and branded accessories for the speakers, moderators and institutional representatives on the bill, Italian and international academics and corporate delegations. The festival welcome bags need to be handled with the same attention as guests of an international academic conference: master cards with name, role, institutional affiliation and language of the recipient, packaging per recipient, delivery to the hotel at least 24 hours before the opening event.
Representative material for non-fiction publishers
Notebooks, metal pens, premium stationery, non-fiction new-release catalogues and coordinated shoppers for the publisher stands across the rooms of the festival institutions. For publishing houses bringing several titles to the same edition of the festival we can coordinate a coherent range of materials (bookmarks, labels, slipcases for numbered editions of working papers, catalogue-of-catalogue brochures) with shared graphics and per-title customisation.
Press and academic kits for institutional delegates
Coordinated shoppers, editorial kits and representative material addressed to economic and financial press desks, academic and research institutions, public-administration representatives and regulatory authorities. For working papers and numbered research publications we add ISSN/ISBN labels, dedicated slipcases and numbered certificates of authenticity, on request of the academic institution.
Production and logistics towards Trento and Rovereto
Confirm artwork, edition size, numbering and on-site recipient before launching production. The venues of the Festival dell’Economia circuit often have narrow lanes and regulated vehicle gates; the institutional venues of Trento (Palazzo della Provincia, Teatro Sociale, MUSE) have their own delivery hours that must be coordinated with their contacts; the MART and Rovereto venues have loading windows to align with the Foundation’s contact persons; the consolidation warehouse of Fondazione Festival dell’Economia is often outside the historic centre and requires appropriate couriers. The ZTL of the Trento historic centre conditions courier access, which is why most teams opt for early-morning deliveries or after 19:30, when heavy vehicles are again admitted in the regulated areas of the centre.
For an Italian programme routed via Milan, shipments are consolidated and dispatched to the institutional venue, the publisher stand, the MART hall or the Foundation consolidation warehouse over 24–48 hours via BRT, SDA, GLS or DHL Express Italia, with appointment for venues that require phone notice. For programmes above 1,000 pieces we propose appointment delivery with phone notice and, on request, on-site set-up by our staff at the publisher stand or the institutional hall. For material requiring climate-controlled conditions (fine-art printed volumes, numbered catalogues, limited-edition glass) we coordinate climate-controlled transport with specialised partners. For working papers and academic research publications we handle ISSN/ISBN labelling and packaging in dedicated slipcases with bilingual Italian/English packing list addressed to the institution.
For speakers, moderators and institutional representatives on the bill we can organise the welcome bag delivery directly to the Trento or Rovereto hotel the day before the opening of the festival days, in coordination with the hostess agency of the Fondazione. For institutional guests and corporate delegations we can deliver the representative kit to the hotel the day before the session, with signed receipt from the recipient and bilingual packing list.
Preparation timeline
10–12 weeks before the opening: lock the product list, quantities and print methods for speaker welcome bags, audience shoppers, bookmarks, press kits and representative material. For the coordinated welcome bags of several sponsors all brand confirmations must be in.
6–8 weeks: approve a physical or pre-production sample for each category (textile, paper, leather, ceramics, steel, wood, glass), including colour yield on light and dark substrates and print durability on certified fabrics and papers.
4–5 weeks: close production, AQL 2.5 quality check and per-recipient labelling, with separation between speaker welcome bags, audience shoppers, bookmarks, press kits, academic kits and representative material.
Final week: reconfirm loading pass, dock-in window, venue, institutional contact, with phone briefing for each logistics hub of the Trento – Rovereto circuit.
Frequently asked questions
When should we place the order to be ready for the Festival dell’Economia opening?
Ten to twelve weeks is the safest window for speaker welcome bags, audience shoppers, bookmarks, press kits and representative material. Tighter programmes are possible only after stock, print methods and access to the institutional venue have been confirmed. For coordinated welcome bags of several sponsors the confirmation of every partner adds two to three extra weeks of lead time.
Can we ship directly to the MART venue or to the Palazzo della Provincia?
Yes, after Fondazione Festival dell’Economia or the organising committee has confirmed the loading window, the gate access and the named recipient. For numbered slipcases and art-edition runs specific packing conditions must be agreed in advance.
Can we split the order by recipient?
Yes. Speaker welcome bags, audience shoppers, bookmarks, press kits, academic kits and representative material can be packed and labelled as separate lots, each tied to its recipient and delivery point on the Trento – Rovereto circuit, with a dedicated packing list for each.
