- General calendar
- The days of the Tuscan Wine Festival open with the welcome of the artistic direction and continue with the cloister tastings, the winery masterclasses, the Tuscan tradition evenings, the round tables of wine criticism, the starred chef dinners, the prize-giving of the labels and the historic cellar evenings.
The Tuscan Wine Festival — as organised in the various editions by the DOC and DOCG consortia, the Tuscan wineries and the sommeliers’ associations curating its programme — brings together producers, oenologists, sommeliers, restaurateurs, wine critics and a wide audience of enthusiasts crossing the days between tastings, masterclasses, starred dinners, round tables and prize-giving of the labels. It is a manifestation spread in Tuscany, but also in Lombardy, in Piedmont and in Veneto, where the Italian wine calendar intersects with the calendar of catering and wine tourism. The festival involves Tuscan wineries (Antinori, Frescobaldi, Ruffino, Banfi, Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, Tenuta San Guido, Castello di Ama, Castello di Volpaia, Castello di Monsanto, Felsina, San Felice, Castello Banfi, Donatella Cinelli Colombini, Le Macchiole, Ornellaia, Sassicaia), DOC and DOCG consortia (Chianti Classico Consortium, Brunello di Montalcino Consortium, Bolgheri DOC Consortium, Vernaccia di San Gimignano Consortium, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Consortium, Morellino di Scansano Consortium), central wine bars, sommeliers’ associations (AIS, FIS, ONAF), starred chefs of the Tuscan tradition, wine tour operators, and closes with the prize-giving of the labels, the starred chef dinners and the historic cellar evenings.
For the Tuscan wineries, the DOC and DOCG consortia and the organisers of the Tuscan Wine Festival, Corp-Merch.IT runs the full chain from its operational hub for the wineries, the consortia of origin, the wine bars, the sommeliers’ associations, the restaurateurs and the touristic sponsors: intake of the winery’s or consortium’s master artwork (AI, EPS, PDF/X-4 with CMYK images at 300 dpi, FOGRA39 colour profile for print, Pantone for textiles), adaptation to the different customisation techniques (water-based screen-printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton for wine bar shoppers, hot-foil printing on FSC-certified paper for limited edition labels and festival booklets, laser engraving on oak wood for branded bottle crates and tasting cutting boards, sublimation printing on cotton for masterclass tote bags, Empoli glass artistic blowing for tasting wine glasses, computer embroidery on felt for consortium badges), physical pre-production sample with Pantone colour map and technical sheet, production on Italian supply chains (Como textile, Tuscan organic cotton for shoppers, Empoli glass for tasting wine glasses, Collodi wood for bottle crates, Fabriano paper for festival booklets, Padua paperboard for limited edition coffer boxes) and delivery to the winery, the piazza, the cloister or the artistic direction’s consolidation warehouse on slots confirmed by the festival calendar.
Five audience tiers, five distinct kits
The Tuscan wineries presenting the labels at the festival tastings look for Empoli glass wine glasses with laser engraving of the winery logo, limited editions of branded bottles in oak wood crates, organic cotton shoppers coordinated with the winery labels, illustrated booklets of the wine tradition, branded corkscrews and stoppers. The DOC and DOCG consortia curating the masterclasses need organic cotton shoppers coordinated with the consortium marks, masterclass booklets on FSC-certified paper, didactic kits of the denominations (small illustrated booklets of the DOP zones, coordinated shoppers, tasting glasses). Guest sommeliers and chefs want coordinated gift kits with the festival graphic, limited editions of the awarded labels, chef coordinated packaging. The wine bars and enoteche need wine glasses, decanters, shoppers and coordinated materials for the Tuscan tradition evenings. Hotel schools and wine tour operators ask for didactic tasting kits.
Why the Italian hub matters for the Tuscan Wine Festival
Most Tuscan wineries, DOC and DOCG consortia and wine bars running a merch programme around the Tuscan Wine Festival coordinate their operations from their Tuscan base, but launching a coordinated branded wine glass collection, a label shopper line or limited edition bottle crates requires a district supply chain that our hub can orchestrate on Italian territory. Como for silk and silk textiles of the crate ribbons, Scandicci for the leather of coffer boxes and small leather goods, Maniago for the steel of corkscrews and metal hardware, Empoli for the glass of the tasting wine glasses, Faenza for the ceramics of the tasting kits, Padua for the technical paperboard of coffer boxes, Fabriano for the paper of festival booklets, Collodi for wooden objects of the didactic kits: the hub lets us consolidate the commissioner’s artwork files, run a physical pre-production sample through Italian supply chains and ship the batch to the winery, the piazza, the cloister or the artistic direction’s consolidation warehouse on a tight 24-to-48-hour courier window from the national territory. For programmes involving a delegation of a twinned festival (twinnings between Italian Wine Festivals and European festivals) we handle bilingual materials (Italian and English as a minimum) and, on request, full multilingual releases with translations aligned to ISO 17100.
Calendar of merch for the Tuscan Wine Festival
The Tuscan Wine Festival window is short and must be planned against a calendar that includes the set-up days of the wineries and cloisters opening the previous Friday, the Saturday afternoon cloister tastings, the Saturday evening winery masterclasses, the Sunday Tuscan tradition evenings, the Monday wine criticism round tables and the great Wednesday label prize-giving day. For Tuscan wineries and DOC and DOCG consortia the gap between confirmation of the festival graphic and the opening of the Saturday tastings is normally less than ten weeks, and any object that has to be at the winery’s meeting point, the cloister or the artistic direction warehouse for the first day must be closed and shipped at least one week before the tastings. We work backwards from that moment: production must close two-to-three weeks before the tastings; the courier slot must be booked for the Wednesday or Thursday of festival week; the addressee list must be finalised at the same time as the tastings calendar is confirmed; the specific details of the edition (year, edition number, awarded labels) only add a small reprint to an already-produced neutral graphic base.
