MiArt is the international modern and contemporary art fair of Milan, promoted by Fiera Milano and reaching its 30th edition in 2026. Held each year in April at the Rho-Pero exhibition campus, it is structured around a Contemporary section, an Established section and a dedicated section for emerging galleries, alongside an art publishers' area and an institutional pavilion; it gathers Italian and international galleries, foundations, art publishers, public institutions and collectives revolving around the European contemporary-art calendar. The fair opens with a private Preview on Thursday and runs across four public days from Friday to Monday, accompanied by a programme of talks, lectures, awards and openings that brings together collectors, curators, museum directors, gallery owners and specialised press. The MiArt calendar sits between Art Dubai (March) and Frieze New York (May), and runs a few weeks ahead of Milano Art Week and the Fuorisalone.

Corp-Merch.IT has worked the Milan contemporary-art calendar across several editions of MiArt, and is familiar with the typical requests of galleries exhibiting at the fair: limited-edition catalogues with a numbered certificate of authenticity, understated shoppers for the distribution of prints and multiples, art editions that need typographic work, progressive numbering and the artist's signature, representation gifts for curators following the Contemporary and Established sections, and welcome kits for speakers at programme talks and awards. We work with a network of pre-production and finishing labs across Italian districts: Como for silk, Scandicci for leather, Vigevano for small leather goods, Maniago for small metalwork, Murano for art glass, Faenza for ceramics, Padova for technical print, plus organic Tuscan cotton for screen-printed shoppers. For catalogues and editorial materials we select FSC-certified papers and low-impact printing methods, aligned with the preferences expressed by independent-bookstore buyers and with non-financial reporting guidelines for regulated entities.

For buyers with Italian VAT registration the invoice goes out in EUR with 22% VAT via the Italian Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) of the Agenzia delle Entrate, delivered to the buyer's Codice Destinatario or PEC; reduced 10% VAT rate applies to editorial catalogues, 5% to art books under current Italian rules. Reverse charge for intra-EU buyers with a valid VIES number, split payment for public-sector stands and self-invoicing for public entities that request it, in line with art. 17 of DPR 633/72. For clients subject to CSRD reporting (D.Lgs. 125/2024, transposing Directive (EU) 2022/2464) we provide a sustainability data sheet per order with Scope 3 CO₂e estimates under the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain on the Italian legs and on the provenances from the named districts, aligned with ESRS E1 (Climate Change) and S2 (Workers in the Value Chain).

The MiArt calendar overlaps with the Milano Art Week, which runs a few weeks ahead of Milan Design Week, and concentrates in Milan collectors, museum directors and international press. Direct deliveries to Fiera Milano Rho have to be coordinated with the venue's loading calendar and the courier access passes for the Rho-Pero campus; a buffer at a Milan hotel or at our hub lowers the risk of off-window deliveries. For galleries with more than one stand (MiArt + Fuorisalone + satellite events across the city) we often propose a single coordination of the logistical plan, with separate packing lists per destination and dedicated on-site labelling. For heavy loads and co-edited catalogues we work with partners specialised in climate-controlled transport so that prints, multiples and volumes keep their condition through the temporary-warehouse phases. For representation programmes that call for dedicated venue reception (Preview, programme talks, gala dinners) we handle the time-sensitive delivery of kits to the hall, the collector's hotel or to the gallery studio.

Recommended merch mix for the event

Catalogues and art editions

Limited-edition catalogues with a numbered certificate of authenticity, fine-art prints on certified art paper, signed collector editions by the artist, leaflets and gallery booklets for the presentations of the opening weekend. Hot-foil title stamping, numbering, artist signature and, on request, a certificate of authenticity inside a slipcase for the collector editions.

Shoppers and totes

GOTS-certified organic cotton shoppers or FSC-certified paper shoppers, screen-printed totes with author graphics, pouches for prints and small multiples, linen or recycled-canvas shoppers for high-frequency hand-out across the four public days. Water-based screen print, hot-foil stamping or embroidery for the author graphics, with limited-edition progressive numbering on request.

Gallery objects

Limited-edition Murano glass, Faenza art ceramics, small Maniago steel items, premium stationery and branded table objects for profiled collectors in the Contemporary and Established sections. FSC-certified paper packaging with tier-numbered labels and, on request, a certificate of authenticity for the object.

Preview and VIP kits

Kits reserved for the Thursday Preview for institutional collectors, slipcased numbered catalogues, made-to-order objects and dedicated shoppers for the specialised press, museum directors and curators invited. Walnut-wood or technical-board welcome boxes with a limited-edition catalogue print, coordinated drinkware and packaging matched to the gallery's institutional colours.

Production and logistics to Fiera Milano Rho

Before launching production we confirm artwork, edition size, numbering and on-site recipient. Stand number, hall and dock-in slot must be checked against the latest Exhibitor Manual issued by Fiera Milano and against the courier pass calendar for the Rho-Pero campus. The venue runs on nominal vehicle passes during the build-up phase, so loading windows must be cross-checked with the courier pass and with the calendar published by the fair's operational secretariat. For limited editions using fine-art print and numbered slipcases specific packing rules apply: single-piece glassine wrapping, label per edition number, dedicated packing list and, on request, pre-shipment photography.

For an Italian programme routed through Milan, shipments are consolidated at the hub and forwarded by BRT, SDA, GLS or DHL Express Italy with 24-hour windows across most Italian postcodes, and by appointment for direct loads to Fiera Milano Rho. For programmes above 1,000 pieces we offer appointment delivery with phone pre-notice and, on request, on-site set-up by our staff. For editions with a certificate of authenticity and numbered slipcases we work with partners specialised in climate-controlled transport so that prints, catalogues and multiples keep their condition through the temporary-warehouse phases. For clients subject to CSRD reporting (D.Lgs. 125/2024) we provide a sustainability data sheet per PO with Scope 3 CO₂e estimates under the GHG Protocol on the Italian legs and on the provenances from the named districts, aligned with ESRS E1 (Climate Change) and S2 (Workers in the Value Chain).

For public institutions or public-sector stands joining MiArt we operate in split-payment regime with VAT paid directly to the Treasury, and on request we handle the buyer's self-invoice per art. 17 of DPR 633/72. For extra-EU buyers based outside the EU the invoice goes out without Italian VAT citing the relevant regulatory exemption; for intra-EU buyers with a valid VIES number reverse charge applies with the relevant article cited. Goods travel with DDT, packing list and origin declaration, and split deliveries between the fair, the partner hotel and the gallery studio are managed with separate packing lists per destination. For sizeable editorial programmes we offer framework agreements on FSC-certified paper, with locked pricing for the 2026 art-fair season and rapid re-orders on out-of-tiratura catalogues.

Preparation timeline

  1. 8–10 weeks before the Preview: lock the product list, edition sizes and print methods, with particular attention to catalogues and numbered editions that require typographic work and artist signature.
  2. 5–6 weeks: approve a physical or production-grade sample for printed shoppers, catalogues and author-led objects, validating colour rendering on natural paper and raw cotton.
  3. 3–4 weeks: close production, AQL 2.5 quality check and per-recipient labelling on every shipment.
  4. Final week: reconfirm the loading window, hall, stand number and on-site contact, with separate delivery handling for galleries that also have appointments across the city during Milano Art Week.

Frequently asked questions

When should we place the order to be ready for the MiArt opening?

Eight to ten weeks is the safest window for limited-edition catalogues, screen-printed shoppers with author graphics and gallery objects. Tighter programmes are possible only after stock, print methods and Rho-Pero venue access are all confirmed, and accepting to work on reduced quantities or on stock items without complex customisation. For art editions with typographic work and artist signature we recommend adding one or two weeks of buffer on top of the editorial window.

Can we ship directly to Fiera Milano Rho?

Only after Fiera Milano has confirmed the loading window, the hall access and the named consignee. For numbered slipcases and art editions specific packing conditions must be agreed in advance (single-piece glassine wrapping, label per edition number, dedicated packing list) to preserve the integrity of the works through the temporary-warehouse stages. For more complex programmes we always recommend a buffer at a Milan hotel or at our hub to reduce the risk of off-window deliveries.

Can we split the order by recipient?

Yes. Catalogues, public shoppers, objects for profiled collectors and Preview kits can be packed and labelled as separate lots, each tied to its audience and its delivery point (stand, hotel, gallery studio). We prepare separate packing lists per destination with dedicated on-site labelling, and we manage separate delivery windows for each channel of the fair.
