The Sagra della Peppa, as it is celebrated in several Italian regions, evokes the harvest of the peppa (sweet peppers and chilli peppers of the farming tradition), preserve-making, the production of sottoli, pesti and sauces, and closes with the distribution of preserves at the small markets and with the community’s long-table meals that bring together growers, families and visitors. It is a tradition spread across Italy, especially in regions where the cultivation of the peppa has a deep history (Piemonte, Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Toscana, Lazio, Campania, Calabria, Sicilia, Sardegna) and where the presidia and consortia of the farming tradition are most active.
For growers, pro loco, Slow Food presidia, consortia, schools, restaurateurs and sponsors of the Sagra della Peppa, Corp-Merch.IT runs the full chain from its Italian operating hub: receipt of master artwork files from the grower, pro loco, Slow Food presidium or consortium (AI, EPS, PDF/X-4 with CMYK images at 300 dpi, FOGRA39 colour profile for print, Pantone profile for textiles), adaptation for the various customisation techniques (water-based screen print on GOTS-certified organic cotton for staff apparel during demonstrations, sublimation print on cotton for festival-audience totes, computerised embroidery on cotton and linen for kitchen-work aprons, hot stamping on FSC-certified paper for festival booklets and peppa variety cards, laser engraving on chestnut wood for branded jar labels, screen print on Faenza ceramic for tasting bowls), physical pre-production sample with Pantone colour map and technical sheet, production on Italian supply chains (Como textiles for coordinated apparel cotton, Tuscan organic cotton for totes, Maniago steel for metalwork, Faenza ceramic for tasting bowls, Collodi wood for didactic kit objects and jar labels, Fabriano paper for festival booklets) and delivery to the village of the sagra, the didactic orchard, the pro loco’s consolidation warehouse or the Slow Food presidium’s venue on slots confirmed by the organising committee.
Five audience tiers, five distinct kits
The grower during the preserve-making demonstrations wants coordinated apparel and kitchen-work accessories: GOTS-certified organic cotton shirt or linen blend with computerised embroidery of the grower’s logo, coordinated apron for kitchen work, durable fabric shopper, peaked cap for kitchen peak hours. The audience of the Sagra della Peppa days wants branded totes, limited-edition jars of preserve with coordinated packaging, small coordinated objects (magnets, bookmarks, illustrated postcards of country work), sauce testers and peppa spoons in wood or ceramic. Schools and didactic labs ask for didactic kits on the farming tradition (small wooden tools, illustrated booklets, mini didactic orchards). Restaurateurs and trattorias offering traditional dishes want coordinated gift kits with the sagra graphic, limited-edition jars of preserve for their own customers. Food-and-wine and tourist sponsors ask for coordinated giveaways for their tastings in the squares.
Why the Italian hub matters for the Sagra della Peppa
Most growers, pro loco and Slow Food presidia that run a merch programme for the Sagra della Peppa coordinate their operations from their own village or reference city, but launching a collection of coordinated apparel, branded totes or limited-edition jars of preserve requires a district supply chain that our hub can orchestrate on Italian territory. Como for apparel cotton, Scandicci for the leather of aprons and small leather goods, Maniago for steel and metalwork, Faenza for the ceramic of tasting bowls, Padova for the technical cartotecnica of slip cases, Fabriano for booklet paper, Collodi for the wooden objects of didactic kits and jar labels: the hub lets us consolidate the buyer’s artwork files, run a physical pre-production sample through Italian supply chains and ship the lot to the village of the sagra, the didactic orchard or the pro loco’s consolidation warehouse on a short courier slot, twenty-four to forty-eight hours from Italian territory. For programmes involving a twinned-sagra delegation (twinning among Sagras of the Peppa of different Italian regions) we handle bilingual materials (Italian and English at minimum) and, on request, full multilingual release with ISO 17100-aligned translations.
Merchandise calendar for the Sagra della Peppa
The Sagra della Peppa window is concentrated and must be planned backwards from the sagra calendar: festival set-up days that open the previous Friday, the orchard visits and processing demonstrations on Saturday, the guided tastings and workshops on Sunday, the community’s big long-table meal day on Monday and the festival close with the peppa small market. For growers and Slow Food presidia, the gap between graphic confirmation and the Saturday days’ opening is usually less than ten weeks, and any item that must be at the grower’s meeting point, at the didactic orchard or at the pro loco warehouse for the first day must be closed and shipped at least one calendar week before the sagra days. We work backwards from that moment: production must close two-three weeks before the Sagra della Peppa days; the courier slot must be booked for the Wednesday or Thursday of the festival week; the addressee list must be finalised at the same time as the days’ calendar confirmation; edition-specific details (year, edition number, celebrated peppa varieties) add only a small reprint to an already-produced neutral graphic base.
