Sport Festival Italia — intended as the national calendar of sport events recognised by CONI and promoted by Sport e Salute SpA in coordination with the National Sport Federations, the Associated Sport Disciplines and the recognised Sport Promotion Bodies — covers the entire solar year with events distributed across the different disciplines, from team sports (football, basketball, volleyball, rugby) to individual sports (athletics, swimming, cycling, tennis, fencing, gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sailing, rowing, canoeing), from winter disciplines (alpine and Nordic skiing, biathlon, skating, curling) to Paralympic disciplines (athletics, swimming, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing). For companies that accompany the teams and the events with their own merchandise programme, Corp-Merch.IT manages from its operational hub the full chain: reception of the master graphic files of the Federation, the club or the technical sponsor (AI, EPS, PDF/X-4 with CMYK images at 300 dpi, FOGRA39 colour profile for printing, RAL and Pantone for materials), adaptation for the different personalisation techniques (water-based screen printing on GOTS-certified organic cotton for technical uniforms, sublimation printing on technical fabrics for sports apparel, computerised embroidery on polo and sweatshirts for staff, hot stamping on FSC-certified paper for catalogues and booklets, laser marking on Maniago stainless steel for small technical hardware, customised glazing on Faenza ceramics for stage awards and small prizes).
The audience of the Italian sport calendar is a combination of National team athletes who follow the World Cup, European and World Championship stages and federal events, professional and amateur clubs that manage merchandising for their fans and for stadium hospitality, federal executives who follow the institutional calendar, technical and institutional sponsors that accompany the events with their own representation programme, media partners and broadcasters (RAI, Sky Sport, DAZN, Eurosport) that set up mobile studios near the venues, fans and event public that attend as paying spectators or accredited, and delegations of international Federations (FIFA, UEFA, World Athletics, FINA) that arrive for the Italian stages. For each of these actors Corp-Merch.IT operates as an external B2B supplier, on the brief of the client, without any role of representation of CONI, Sport e Salute SpA, the National Sport Federations, the professional clubs, the broadcasters or the technical sponsors.
A recurring case for National Sport Federations that accompany the competitive calendar with their own merchandise programme is the kit for the World Cup or European and World Championship stages that the National team plays at home, often in high print runs and with a format coordinated with the season calendar. For these jobs we propose a neutral graphic base coordinated with the Federation identity manual (graphic identity, dominant palette, institutional claim, reference National team codes), declined on a set of coherent articles (t-shirts and polo for technical staff, sweatshirts for volunteers, kits for stadium hospitality, gifts for foreign Federation delegations, welcome packs for media partners and broadcasters) and we add in a second wave the specific details of the single stage (date, venue, opponent, event claim) on a limited print run reserved for the accredited public. For technical sponsors of the National teams that wish a coordinated merchandising with the sponsorship campaign we propose sets where the institutional colours of the sponsor become the graphic base, with application of the logo and the payoff in a controlled and certified print run.
Why the Rome-Milan hub matters for Sport Festival Italia
Most of the National Sport Federations, the professional clubs and the technical sponsors that run a merch programme for the Italian sport calendar coordinate their Italian operations from the Rome hub (headquarters of CONI and the Federations) or from the Milan hub (headquarters of the professional Leagues and the technical sponsors), where the communication agencies, the graphic studios, the sports apparel producers and the logistical partners converge. The Rome-Milan hub allows us to consolidate the Federation or club graphic files and the Pantone references with the brand team, run the physical pre-production sample on the Italian supply chains (Como silk for silk, sports apparel of the Venetian and Marches districts, Scandicci small leather, Maniago stainless steel for technical accessories, Faenza ceramics for awards, Fabriano paper for catalogues) and ship the lot to the stadium, the sports hall or the stage venue on a very short courier window, twenty-four-forty-eight hours from the reference capital. For programmes that combine an Italian Federation with an international partner we manage bilingual materials (Italian and English at minimum) and, on request, full multilingual release with translations aligned to ISO 17100.
Merch calendar for the events
The Italian sport calendar window is distributed across the whole solar year and must be prepared against a calendar that includes the federal opening events of the season (September-October), the World Cup and European stages (November-March), the end-of-season events (May-June), the summer athletics and swimming events (July-August) and the winter disciplines (December-March). For Federations and clubs the gap between the confirmation of the competitive calendar and the opening of the event is normally less than ten weeks, and any object that must be at the stadium, the sports hall or the federal centre for the first day must be closed and shipped at least one week before the opening. We work backwards from that moment: production must close two-three weeks before the event; the courier slot must be booked for the Thursday or Friday of the event week; the addressee list must be finalised at the same time as the race calendar confirmation; the details of the single stage add only a small reprint to an already produced neutral graphic base.
For Italian clients with VAT number the invoice is issued through the Exchange System (SdI) of the Agenzia delle Entrate with application of 22% VAT in EUR; reduced rates of 4%, 5% or 10% available on the categories of products that allow them (publishing, art objects, limited-edition art prints). Reverse charge for intra-EU buyers registered with VIES, split payment for public administration entities and recognised Federations, destination code or PEC for electronic invoice delivery. For clients subject to CSRD reporting (D.Lgs. 125/2024, which transposes Directive (EU) 2022/2464) we provide a sustainability sheet per order with Scope 3 CO₂e estimate according to the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain on the Rome-Milan route and from the production supply chains indicated.
